1. Morning and night regimen – I cannot stress enough the importance of having a consistent skin care regimen. The bare minimum should include twice daily cleansing, toning, and moisturizing and the occasional exfoliation. Keeping pores clean, dead cells removed, and skin moisturized is the most important part of having healthy skin.
2. Drink lots of water – About 60% of our bodies are made up of water, so it is no surprise that in order to keep our skin supple and glowing we need to drink a good amount of water. Water helps keep skin from drying out, improves elasticity, and is the cheapest way to keep skin looking young and healthy.
3. Never, EVER go to bed with makeup on! – It does not take long for bacteria to form on a dirty face. Going to bed without cleansing allows your pores to clog and bacteria to take root instantly resulting in breakouts, infections, and future wrinkles. No matter how tired you are, take the time for your skin care regimen.
4. Clean, hypoallergenic pillows – Another common breeding ground for bacteria is your bed sheets. By changing your pillow case often, you will help prevent bacteria from camping out on your skin. If you have sensitive skin and break out easily, try a hypoallergenic pillow.
5. Know your skin – Using the wrong products could be just as bad as using nothing at all. If you’re not sure what your skin type is, let’s set up a consultation to figure out what would be the best option for you.
