Who's Hair is it Anyway?
I was once told that it doesn't matter what a client says about what they want. I am the beautician, not them so I need to do what I know would be best regardless of what they want. I RESPECTFULLY DISAGREE! Now don't misunderstand me. I do everything in my power to gain more knowledge, experience, and skill. And I will use those experiences to discuss your options with you and will be able to suggest some very cute cut and color options. However, when it is all said and done, you are the one walking out of that salon with that haircut. You are the one who will have to style it every day. Why on earth would I give you an awesome hair cut that you hate? Most higher end stylists will not do a cut that they don't approve of, because they don't want their name stamped on it. This is what I was taught. My theory is, if I give you the cut that has my name stamped on it instead of yours then how likely are you to tell your friends about me? Word of mouth is the absolute best advertisement for me, so I want happy clients! If you're up for a change, and are willing to listen to my suggestions, then wonderful! If you have a specific style that you're stuck on and just can't bear to change, then we can do that to! (Of course I will always push for the change if you're wearing a cut from the 80's, but in the end it's still your hair.) :o)
